Dr. Salam Asya, Executive Director of Rawan Association for Child Development, participated in a conference in Amman organized by the Arab and Palestinian Network for Early Childhood, of which the association is a member. The conference was attended by members of the Palestinian network, representatives of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, and civil society institutions, under the auspices of the Juzoor Foundation and partner civil and official institutions from other Arab countries.
During the conference, participants highlighted the severe and tragic conditions faced by children in Gaza, including killing, abuse, and deprivation of the most basic necessities of life, from safe shelter to food and education. The discussions also addressed the destruction of most schools and all universities, as well as the impact of living under continuous bombardment for nearly a year.
The conference concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of institutional integration and comprehensive action according to the role of each institution in the medical, psychological, educational, and relief sectors. Participants also stressed the need to activate the conference recommendations in support of the children of Gaza.
